My CPA Journey
4th times the charm

I know I am full of empty promises…promises of posting….

Well last testing window I sat for REG and BEC and failed both…the reason for my absence. I was truly devastated. I found out I failed REG on the day of my wedding and then just a week later I found out I failed BEC…by 3 points…………..

I was totally convinced I could take those two again in the last window of 2011, but my #twudygroup set me straight. I would not be able to give the required attention necessary to pass, so I decided on slaying REG. I have been studying for about 6 weeks. I also decided to stick with all my present material. I have been studying this for almost a year now so I have plenty of material. My lovely #twudygroup was also able to share their notes with me. This has helped alot. I can see the material from another perspective and the notes give a more intuitive understanding.

My original date to sit was 11/4, but I rescheduled to 11/10. I realized I needed more time. At this moment, I am starting to get nerves because I have taken this part 3 times previously and my highest score is a 71.

I took all my score notices and literally compared them side by side. I am a tax expert, but my business laws, regulations, and professional responsibilities need a lot of practice. As well as the TBS. I know the last time I took the exam I felt very good about the MCQs, but there was 1 TBS that threw me for a loop. My 68 proved to me that TBS are important. So that is where I am spending my last few days focusing. The beginning of this study session focused intensely on business law, regulations, and professional responsibilities.

I will practice TBS, take practice exams, and read notes. I am also getting more sleep. Something my husband has pointed out to me. He didn’t think I got a lot of sleep in the days before the exam. I also might point out that I had a horrible Prometrics experience during one of my REG tests. I have bad nerves! LOL

Some of my #twudygroupies have gotten their scores and most of them were passing! Congrats to them. I hope to be in the winners circle in a couple of weeks.

Good luck and may the 75 be with you all.
